Netop Vision is legacy classroom-management software now owned by Impero. It lets teachers view student screens, demonstrate content, lock screens, launch or restrict applications and websites, and communicate with students on supported classroom devices.

This is not primarily a data-security product, and the current listing's reference to Impero Connect is misleading: Impero Connect is a remote-support product, while classroom-management capabilities align more closely with Impero Classroom and the legacy Vision product line. Current sales and migration status should be confirmed before renaming or consolidation.

NovaBACKUP provides backup and recovery software for Windows endpoints, servers, virtual machines, Microsoft 365, and other supported district workloads. It can store protected copies locally, offsite, or in cloud storage so systems and files can be recovered after hardware failure, deletion, ransomware, or a broader outage.

The product is operational backup infrastructure rather than a monitoring or student-safety platform. District value depends on coverage, isolation of backup copies, recovery testing, retention, encryption, and whether the district or a managed provider is responsible for monitoring failed jobs and restoring services.

Paessler PRTG Network Monitor is a general-purpose infrastructure-monitoring platform. It collects status and performance information from networks, servers, applications, cloud services, storage, power systems, environmental sensors, and other devices through protocols and interfaces such as SNMP, flow data, WMI, packet inspection, APIs, and vendor-specific sensors.

District technology teams use PRTG to detect outages, capacity problems, failed services, unusual traffic, certificate or hardware issues, and degraded performance before users submit tickets. It does not replace a security information and event management platform, but its alerts and historical data provide important operational and security context.

Securly is a K–12 student-safety platform whose Filter product controls web access on school networks and managed devices. It categorizes sites, blocks harmful or distracting content, detects proxy and circumvention attempts, manages YouTube and generative-AI access, and reports student internet activity.

The broader Securly platform adds student-wellness monitoring, classroom management, parent controls, and edtech-usage analysis. Districts should identify which modules they actually license because filtering, safety alerts, human review, classroom control, and analytics are separate capabilities with different operational and privacy implications.

SentinelOne Singularity Endpoint is an endpoint protection, detection, and response platform for workstations, servers, and supported cloud workloads. It uses behavioral and machine-learning analysis to prevent malware and ransomware, record endpoint activity, detect suspicious behavior, and automate containment or remediation.

The catalog name appears to transpose EDR as “ERD.” Districts may license different Singularity tiers, managed detection, identity, cloud, or data-retention capabilities, so the record should describe the endpoint platform without implying that every SentinelOne module is included.

Smoothwall provides K–12 web filtering and digital-safety monitoring. Its filtering service controls internet access across school networks and supported devices, while Monitor analyzes student activity for language or behavior associated with self-harm, bullying, violence, exploitation, and other safeguarding concerns.

District technology teams use Smoothwall to enforce category and user-based policies, inspect and report online activity, and manage off-campus devices. Safeguarding staff can receive contextual alerts and, where contracted, human review or escalation; these workflows require clear district policy, restricted access, and defined response responsibilities.

Sophos School Protection is education-focused packaging and guidance around Sophos Firewall rather than a separate security appliance. It combines network threat prevention with user-aware web filtering, application control, encrypted-traffic inspection, reporting, SafeSearch and YouTube controls, and predefined policies that help schools implement CIPA-oriented access rules.

Sophos Firewall can coordinate with Sophos Endpoint through synchronized security, sharing endpoint health and application information to improve network decisions. Districts should document the actual firewall, endpoint, MDR, and filtering licenses in use instead of assuming that every Sophos security capability is included in the School Protection label.

SysCloud is a cloud-backup and security platform for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. It independently copies district email, files, shared drives, Teams, SharePoint, and related SaaS information so administrators can recover records deleted by users, ransomware, misconfiguration, or retention limits in the source service.

The platform also adds search, eDiscovery, retention, data-loss-prevention, and security visibility across supported cloud applications. It protects information rather than devices or network traffic, making it useful for districts that need recoverable cloud records and centralized investigation of sensitive or suspicious content.

Varonis is an enterprise data-security platform that discovers and classifies sensitive information, maps who can access it, monitors how it is used, and reduces excessive permissions across cloud, SaaS, databases, and on-premises repositories. It focuses on protecting the district's information itself rather than filtering student browsing or managing endpoints.

Security and privacy teams use Varonis to find exposed records, risky sharing links, dormant accounts, misconfigurations, and abnormal access behavior. Automated remediation and investigation tools can reduce the potential impact of ransomware, compromised identities, insider activity, and accidental disclosure.
