PowerSchool SIS is a K–12 student information system for enrollment, student and household records, attendance, scheduling, grades, transcripts, discipline, health, programs, portals, and regulatory reporting. It serves as a district’s central operational record and supplies student and roster information to many other applications.
The student record connects teachers and families with attendance, course history, and district reporting. Upstream corrections can change the rosters and information used by many other applications. A stable student identifier provides continuity across years and schools. Enrollment and course dates determine which records belong to a particular roster, service, or reporting period.
For district data leaders, the system’s significance is the reach of its shared records. Changes to enrollment, identity, or program history can affect access, services, and reporting. Schools, program owners, and technology staff coordinate who approves changes, when they take effect, and how corrections reach receiving systems and reporting processes.
