HMH Reading Growth Measure is HMH’s computer-adaptive interim reading assessment delivered through the Ed platform. It measures reading performance and growth across administrations and provides domain, skill, and instructional information connected with HMH reporting and curriculum environments.
Districts use the measure for benchmark windows, growth monitoring, instructional planning, and review of performance across classes and schools. Districts should align administration, accommodations, score interpretation, data access, and retention with the intended use of the assessment.

The HMH Growth Measures are a collection of research-based benchmark assessments that provide educators with an overall insight into how their students are performing in their grade level. With the exception of the Growth Measure Reading K–2, which is a fixed-form assessment, all other Growth Measure assessments (Growth Measure Reading, Spanish Reading Growth Measure, and Growth Measure Math) are computer-adaptive tests (CAT) that provide data on students’ reading or math performance on grade-level expectations and growth over time. The HMH Growth Measures offer multiple measures including a Scaled Score and performance levels. As computer-adaptive tests, they must be taken online and cannot be printed for offline testing.
