Overview

SIRAS is a California-focused special education management system for creating IEPs and managing related student, service, compliance, 504, SST, and SELPA information. It guides teams through required forms and processes while maintaining current and historical records for students served by participating districts and SELPAs.

Districts use SIRAS to reduce duplicate entry, monitor timelines and missing information, manage caseloads and services, support parent-facing documents, and prepare CALPADS special education reporting. The system’s strongest value is its alignment to California workflows, although districts still need clear governance for SIS exchanges, record transfer, security roles, and submission ownership.
