Koha is a free and open-source integrated library system for cataloging, circulation, patrons, acquisitions, serials, authorities, reporting, notices, and public discovery. It supports single libraries, multi-branch systems, and consortia through browser-based staff and patron interfaces.
The software has no license fee or single required vendor, but it is not operationally free: districts must provide hosting, security, upgrades, backups, integrations, migration, configuration, and support themselves or contract with a Koha service provider. The quality and cost of the implementation depend heavily on that operating model.
