Overview
Core Curriculum Science Grades K–8

Amplify Science is Amplify’s core K–8 science curriculum. It is intended primarily for elementary and middle-school science learners, with science teachers, students, curriculum leaders, and instructional coaches using it to support phenomena, investigation, modeling, evidence, explanation, reading, and three-dimensional science learning.

Students investigate real-world problems through hands-on activities, simulations, readings, discussion, models, and written scientific explanations. Districts should evaluate how the product fits adopted curriculum, student needs, instructional time, and the work educators must do around it.

Amplify Science is a K-8 Science Curriculum blending hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools which empowers students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists and engineers.
UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science, the authors behind Amplify Science, developed the Do, Talk, Read, Write, Visualize approach, and gold standard research shows that it works. Amplify Science for middle school has also recently been rated all-green by EdReports.
Reflecting state-of-the-art practices in science teaching and learning, Amplify Science was developed by the science education experts at UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science and the digital learning team at Amplify. It is the Hall’s first curriculum designed to address the new science standards. Their research-based approach provides students with multiple modalities to explore the NGSS curriculum.

In every unit students engage in a relevant, real-world problem. Scientific phenomena are investigated as they  engage in collaboration and discussion. Developing models or explanations allow them to arrive at solutions.

Hands-on activities, print materials, and powerful digital tools support online and offline teaching and learning to support blended instruction. Highly adaptable and user-friendly, provide schools and teachers flexibility based on their technology resources and preferences.

A science program that educators can use to bring the NGSS and three-dimensional science learning to life. Students engage with science and engineering practices, figure out disciplinary core ideas, and utilize and apply crosscutting concepts in multiple modalities across thoughtful, structured lessons, all centered around engaging anchor phenomena.
