Product Details

Overview
Cisco Cloudlock is the cloud-native CASB and Cloud Cybersecurity Platform that helps accelerate use of the cloud, including the apps you buy and build. Cisco Cloudlock secures your cloud users, data, and apps across Software-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service, and orchestrates security across your existing security investments.

Features
Cisco Cloudlock is a Cloud Cybersecurity Platform

While cloud security products focus on securing an enumerated list of SaaS applications, a platform extends security to protect apps on Infrastructure and Platform-as-a-Service (IaaS and PaaS) and dynamically orchestrates security across an organization's cybersecurity architecture, including Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS), Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Software Web Gateways (SGW), Threat Emulation, and more.

As a platform, Cisco Cloudlock takes a programmatic approach to cloud security. In addition to leveraging APIs from cloud services, Cisco Cloudlock is itself a collection of RESTful, API-based microservices. Using this approach, Cisco Cloudlock dynamically applies individual security services (such as Cloud DLP) to customer apps on any platform, whether those apps are running on a well-known service such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or an on-premises server.

Company News
SAN JOSE, Calif. — On August 1, 2016, Cisco completed its acquisition of CloudLock, Inc., a privately-held cloud security company headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts.

CloudLock specializes in cloud access security broker (CASB) technology. CASB technology understands and monitors user behavior and sensitive data in cloud applications. It helps secure cloud applications that customers buy — SaaS applications such as Google Drive, Salesforce, and Box — as well as the applications that they build like IaaS and PaaS platforms. With these capabilities added to the Cisco security portfolio, Cisco will be able to provide customers with greater visibility, compliance and threat protection regardless of whether the applications are fully sanctioned by IT or not.
