Overview

Tools4ever's current identity and access management product is HelloID, a cloud service that automates user accounts, permissions, access requests, password services, and single sign-on. In schools, it typically connects SIS or HR data with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, and other applications so account access changes as students and employees enter, move within, or leave the district.

HelloID is connector-driven rather than tied to a single directory or application ecosystem. Source connectors read people and role data; target connectors create or update accounts, groups, licenses, and permissions; and service-automation workflows handle access requests and delegated tasks. Districts can therefore use existing systems as authoritative sources while reducing manual updates in every downstream product.

Automated provisioning
  • Creates, changes, disables, and removes accounts using SIS, HR, directory, or database information and district business rules.
  • Updates groups, organizational units, licenses, and entitlements as school, grade, class, position, or status changes.
Connectors and interoperability
  • Provides source and target connectors for Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Aeries, Skyward, Alma, Workday, and many other systems.
  • Supports APIs, files, databases, and custom PowerShell-based connectors for systems without a packaged integration.
Single sign-on
  • Offers an application portal that can provide SSO to cloud and legacy resources.
  • Uses identity data and authorization rules to present the appropriate applications to each user.
Access and service automation
  • Supports user access requests, approvals, delegated administration, and self-service tasks.
  • Maintains an audit history of automated and approved changes for security review and troubleshooting.
Password services
  • Provides self-service password reset and account-unlock capabilities through HelloID and related Tools4ever products.
  • Helps reduce help-desk work while maintaining district-defined verification and password requirements.
