Dr. Chris Moggia, Executive Director
Chris Moggia is a California-based educator and technology consultant. He has a Bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara in Political Science and both a Master's and Doctorate in Education from UCLA. He is a credentialed teacher and administrator who has also worked as an adjunct faculty member for the UCLA Graduate School of Education, the University of San Diego, and Pacific Oaks College, teaching and developing courses in leadership, technology, and sociolinguistics.
Chris started his career in education as an elementary school teacher at 99th Street Accelerated School, where he gained an interest in instructional technology, assessment, and leadership. While at the school, he developed the teacher training component for the Language Development program for African American Students and taught over 3,000 teachers how to integrate technology into their classroom instruction. He also wrote a text-to-speech word processor for K-5 students called "The Writing Machine" which was used by all 19 schools in the program.
Outside of the classroom Dr. Moggia has also worked as the Director of Online Teacher Education, launching a successful line of instructor-led courses for educators courses through UCLA Extension and the University of San Diego. Chris’ other professional roles include serving as the Director of Regulatory Affairs for Walden University and as Director of Market Research for Laureate, Inc.
Chris has extensive experience in deploying technology solutions for schools, and in managing student information and assessment systems. He served as the Senior Director of Information Technology for Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, as Director of Data Integration for a charter management corporation, and as a Teacher on Special Assignment for the Manhattan Beach USD. He currently works as the Director of Digital Learning and Assessment for the 14 school PUC charter school district in Burbank, CA.
