CALPADS releases Data Guide version 10.0

 Here are the significant changes from the release today of the new CALPADS Data Guide: Name Section Summary of Changes Student Enrollment 2.1.1 Removed Ungraded Elementary and Ungraded Secondary verbiage from Field # 1.24 (Grade Level). Student Enrollment 2.1.1 Added new comment for District of Choice to Field 1.30 (Student School Transfer Code). Dashboard Coordinator Application Renewal for 18/19

Dear Dashboard Coordinators: The purpose of this e-mail is to remind you that the California Department of Education (CDE) will be requiring a new submission of the Dashboard Coordinator Application for the 2018­–19 school year in order to gain access as the coordinator for your local educational agency (LEA). Even if the coordinator information has not changed from the previous year, the application must be submitted and approved by the LEA superintendent or charter school administrator to receive the login credentials. Dear DataQuest Users: This message is to notify you that the 2016–17 Four-Year Adjusted Cohort Graduation Rate (ACGR) and Outcome data reports are now publicly available on the California Department of Education (CDE) DataQuest website at http://dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/. Notes on the ELPAC -  The Initial ELPAC administration window opened on July 1.-  The Local Scoring Tool (LST) became available in the Test Operations and Management System (TOMS) on July 9.-  The Initial ELPAC data file layout will be posted on the ELPAC Test Administration web page by July 13.-  The Initial ELPAC preliminary score sheet and instructions as well as the conversion tables will be posted in TOMS by July 13. They are available for optional summer use by local educational agencies (LEAs) that choose to wait until fall to enter raw scores in the LST. Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a non-pricing meal service option for schools and school districts in low-income areas. CEP allows the nation's highest poverty schools and districts to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without collecting household applications. Instead, schools that adopt CEP are reimbursed using a formula based on the percentage of students categorically eligible for free meals based on their participation in other specific means-tested programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). New Cool Podcast - My Tech Toolbelt


I came across this fantastic new podcast called "My Tech Toolbelt" at the CUE Conference.  Great stuff!   It's run by a two woman crew (Shannon Tabaldo and Brenda Argano) and focuses on recognizing great teaching (and teachers) and the work they are doing with technology.  I love the 'hands-on' format of the podcast - instead of hyping up this product or that, they focus instead on the nitty-gritty of getting technology to work and making it practical for both teachers and students.   My Tech ToolBelt Podcast We are a small crew that is passionate about recognizing great teachers and the work they are doing with technology in their classrooms.
